Dave Butcher has a gallery in Tunstead Milton with around 140 framed photographs and 400 unframed photos on display. For location see contact page. Please telephone or email before you visit to confirm that photographs of interest are in stock to meet your requirements.
The Gallery in the Gardens, Pavilion Gardens, Buxton.
This is a purpose built exhibition space in the main Pavilion Gardens building for the 43 members of High Peak Artists and is provided by High Peak Borough Council. It is adjacent to the Tourist Information Centre and shop.
There are framed and unframed black and white photographs by Dave Butcher, big and small, for sale. The Gallery is open every day of the year except Christmas Day. If you would like to come and meet me or have a chat I include the days when I will be running the Gallery (roughly twice a month) in my Events calendar and on my Home page.
My books are on sale in the main Pavilion Gardens shop.

Lake Light Exhibition at the Woolpack Inn, Eskdale, September and October 2012
An exhibition of 23 Lake District photographs in the main bar at the Woolpack Inn.
Peak District Artisans Great Dome Art Fair, Buxton Dome July 2012
This is a big event that we do with Peak District Artisans, who organise the whole thing. It's always the last weekend of the Buxton Festival and is an official Festival Fringe event so we have lots of visitors. The Buxton Dome is spectacular, the dome is bigger than St Pauls and for a while was the largest unsupported dome in Europe. Originally built by the Duke of Devonshire for schooling his horses then converted to a hospital and now the main campus building for the University of Derby in Buxton.
Peak District Artisans Spring Showcase at Haddon Hall, March 2012
There were 36 artists and craft workers, all members of Peak District Artisans and living and working in the Peak District, spread throughout Haddon Hall in Derbyshire (near Bakewell). A medieval stately home that still felt medieval and was a little challenging to set up in. We were in the State Bedroom!
Focus on Imaging, Birmingham NEC 2012
We were back on the Ilford Photo stand at Focus on Imaging for the 5th time in 8 years. This time we were selling books and courses as well as talking about Ilford darkroom products.
Craft in Focus Christmas show, RHS Wisley 2011
We have done quite a few shows with Rob Chapman and his Craft in Focus organisation. They are always well organised and usually well attended. This was our stand at the Christmas show at RHS Wisley in November 2011.
ICHF Crafts for Christmas, Glasgow SECC, 2011
We exhibited for the first time with ICHF in 2011, including Stonor Park near Henley on Thames, the NEC and Glasgow (shown here).
The Storey Centre, Lancaster, 2011
This was a solo exhibition that ran for about 10 weeks in the Thomas Storey Room.
Surtex Licensing Trade Fair, Jacob Javits Centre New York 2011
This was the third time that we had our own stand at Surtex. It is a show for licensing images for printing onto surfaces and textiles.
Since it was in Manhattan in New York and is specifically for image licensing there was no need for picture frames and stand furniture like print browsers. Jan did the show on her own to save on costs and most of the prints on display were unmounted to save on weight and bulk such that everything would fit in a large suitcase and meet airline weight limits.
We had a mixture of International Graphics Walmsley GmbH posters (4 big ones at 1 metre x 0.5 metres, all of New York), 5 hand prints and over 30 Silver Prints (printed by Ilford Lab Direct from scans of my negatives). The picture here gives you an idea of what was on display. Jan also had a few copies of each of my 3 books and 4 portfolio books of black and white photographs, arranged by subject.
Spring Fair Trade Show, Birmingham NEC 2011
The Spring Fair is the largest trade show for the gift industry in the UK, held in early February every year.
In 2011 we had a stand for the first time and exhibited our range of silver gelatine prints for retail and image licensing.
Focus on Imaging, Birmingham NEC 2010
We were on the Ilford Photo / Harman Technology stand again with a generous allocation of space from Ilford.
Surtex Licensing Trade Fair, Jacob Javits Centre New York 2008
In 2008, this was our second time that we had our own stand at Surtex, a show for licensing images for printing onto surfaces and textiles.
A different sort of display to the retail shows that we do in the UK. Lots of our existing licensing products on display as well as others to show the wide range of black and white photographs available.
Peak Light Solo Exhibition, Buxton Museum and Art Gallery, 2008
I had a solo exhibition at the Buxton Museum and Art Gallery from January to Easter 2008. It was called Peak Light and displayed 36 framed hand printed traditional darkroom prints.
Focus On Imaging, Birmingham NEC 2007
Dave Butcher Photographs on the Ilford Photo display on the Harman Technology / Ilford Photo stand in 2007 at the Focus on Imaging show at the NEC, Birmingham.
Dave Butcher Photography at BBC Good Homes, Birmingham NEC 2007
We have done a few big retail shows at the Birmingham NEC. BBC Good Homes was combined with BBC Good Food and BBC Gardeners World to make a very large show.
This is our stand. As you can see it has a huge range of photographs on sale, as well as books and photography courses. I hate the pink carpet and facia panels!
Surtex Licensing Trade Fair, Jacob Javits Centre New York 2007
This was a new departure for us, our first trade show and our first show outside the UK. The show was Surtex, a show for licensing images for printing onto surfaces and textiles. I joined the UKTI Passport to Export scheme and received quite a bit of grant money to encourage us to do a trade show overseas and this was the one we decided to do. Without this support we would not have done it as the cost was considerable.
Jan did the show on her own to save money and took everything for the stand over with her in a large suitcase.
The photograph of Jan and the stand was kindly taken by a neighbouring exhibitor, Cindy Evert
Dave Butcher Gallery for a Weekend - Peak Village Rowsley 2007
A typical display at Peak Village Rowsley.
In 2007 and 2008 we took a retail unit for the weekend and set up a 'Gallery for a Weekend'. Lots of framed and mounted black and white photos as well as books and courses.
Grand Designs Live, Birmingham NEC 2006
We had our own stand as part of the Design Factory group.
Dave Butcher on Ilford Photo stand at Focus On Imaging, Birmingham NEC 2006
The Ilford Photo / Harman Technology stand at Focus on Imaging at the NEC Birmingham; 2006 was the first year that Harman used my images on their stand.
