High Peak Artists
This is an association of artists and craft workers living in and around the High Peak area of the Peak District, centred on Buxton. I am a member and committee secretary, and it’s run as a workers co-operative. We are based in Buxton in Derbyshire and have our own permanent exhibition spaces, Gallery in the Gardens and the Art Cafe, both in Buxton Pavilion Gardens. My wife Jan Butcher is also a member, displaying her colour photographs, and is Treasurer of the group.
Gallery in the Gardens, Pavilion Gardens, Buxton.
This is a purpose built commercial gallery exhibition space in the main Pavilion Gardens building for the 45 members of High Peak Artists. We run the gallery ourselves and pay rent and commission on sales to High Peak Borough Council. It is adjacent to the Tourist Information Centre and shop.
There are framed and unframed black and white photographs by Dave Butcher, big and small, for sale with a strong bias to Buxton and the Peak District. The Gallery is open every day except January and Christmas Day, opening times vary but it is usually open between 10.30am to 4pm but with longer hours in the summer months. If you would like to come and meet me or have a chat I include the days when I will be running the Gallery (roughly three times a month) in my Events calendar and on my Home page.
My books are on sale in the main Pavilion Gardens shop.
